Volunteering
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Banana Trust children’s charity. We provide day trips for children with additional needs and disabilities in London who wouldn’t normally have access to this type of care. Every extra volunteer is another child we can provide respite care on a trip for.
Fill out the form below and we will send you more information.
What does volunteering for the Banana Trust look like?
Volunteering for the Banana Trust only requires 1 day of your time roughly every 6 weeks and it is incredibly rewarding (though you don’t have to commit to every trip). You need no prior experience of working with children as we have an online training course that gives you all the skills you need and you will be supported by a team of experienced volunteers. When you come on one of our trips you will normally be a 1-1 carer to a child with additional needs. We provide you with a detailed care plan on the child’s needs, likes and dislikes and your job is to ensure they are safe and have the best day possible, this isn’t normally to difficult as we have lots of exciting activities put on. The days can sometimes be challenging and require some patience but overall they are extremely fun and rewarding and you get to meet some likeminded people.
